I do not understand, why isn't this a warranty issue? Is the thermpen too slow, or the other units faster than advertised? I feel like my thermpen gets me a reading in about 1-2 secods.Ĭould be. It's not a bad thermometer, just not worth the premium. Without the extra speed I don't see the point of paying that much of the extra price. Even a greater price difference between the thermapop and the mk4: $70 There is a pretty massive price difference between a thermapop and a classic thermapen: $50. So what advantage does it have? It's supposed to be much faster. The main issue is that is not faster than a thermapop which is a fraction of the cost. The back light or the other bells and whistles aren't the main issue. It may take up to two weeks to process credits. Credits are not issued until the goods are received and inspected at ThermoWorks. Used or damaged equipment may not be returned for a refund.

The thermopop has a rotating display while the thermapen does not. The thermopop can switch between F and C with having to open the battery compartment and flip switches. The thermopop has a backlight display while the thermapen classic does not. In fact, the thermapop is probably a superior thermometer to the thermapen in all areas except reach. I did an ice bath test and a boiling water test several times and all three thermometers get to the same temperature at exactly the same time interval. I wanted the thermapen in the hopes of getting quicker readings since the thermapen is advertised as having a 2-3 second read time vs 5-6 seconds for the RT600C and thermapop. I own two other thermometers from thermoworks. I just received my thermapen and, unfortunately unlike others, I have to say that it is not worth the money.
